The goal of the American Dream Journal is simple- to collect the hopes and dreams of individuals throughout the U.S.! When a person receives the journal, they write in their hope/dream and then pass it on to another person! Entries can be big dreams like world peace or small personal ones like getting an A in a class (sounds familiar?). People can decorate their pages however they want, to fit their dream or personality.
Each entry starts with a person's name, age, and location. After writing an entry, they contact another blogger (I decided to keep this in the blogging community), and see if they'd be interested in participating. If they are, the current journal holder mails it to the new person where the cycle continues. Whoever fills in the last page contacts me through this blog and mails the journal back to me! I'm hoping to have the journal back by Dec. 31, 2010!
The first page of the journal includes instructions for writing in the journal. As each person receives the journal, they've been asked to report back here and say where they're located. I'll be maintaining a map of the path the journal takes on here for everyone to watch!
So, here's hoping the journal makes it back! Mom says I'm crazy, because I'm essentially giving away a perfectly good journal. I have more faith in humanity lol Any time you want to see what's up with the journal, just click the button in the right sidebar! Feel free to leave questions or comments!

Awesome idea! I hope it makes it way back to you.
Wonderful idea...I would be into getting it sometime and passing it on, too...it will be so interesting to see all the places it goes.
I got it today!!! Now I just have to think of a good entry and who to send it to next :D Thanks Lindsay
Brilliant idea!
What a wonderful idea - hope you are able to track it well.
I've done this before through bookcrossing and it's a great way to find out what others are doing or thinking
I am mailing the journal on my lunch hour to Warner Robins, GA! So you can add it to the map :D
Great! I've added it! I'll adjust the date on there once we hear from the recipient that it has arrived :oD Thanks!!!
YAY!! I've received the journal, I've written up my entry! I need to put my entry in the journal and I will mail it to Tampa, FL next! Thanks :)
I have the journal in Tampa, FL and though it's enjoying a little sunshine down my way, will hopefully be finding it a new desination this weekend! I'll keep you posted.
