Review: Bounce Dryer Bar

I received a Bounce Dryer Bar from Viewpoints to test and review. I live at home, so I asked my mom if it would be alright for me to stick it in the dryer. She wasn't keen on the idea, as she has been a long-time user of Downy liquid softener. My older brother lives right around the corner, and he was more than willing to try it out (it doesn't take much to persuade a 25 year old guy when it means less effort on his part).

Before sticking it into his dryer, I had him run a load with his regular softener (he also uses Downy liquid softener). He set aside a few articles of clothing and then put the dryer bar into the dryer. After he ran the next load of laundry, I asked him for his opinion. He had nothing negative to say, and said "It feels exactly the same as the clothes with liquid softener and smells really good!" He likes it so much that I think he's going to stick with it!

There isn't much to not like about this bar- it's small, it smells great, and you just click it to the inside of the dryer. Then you just forget about it for two months! It acts exactly like softener or a dryer sheet, removing static and making the fabrics soft to touch. My brother has had no problems with the bar coming detached from the dryer drum, and the bar has not fallen apart or broken like I've heard some people complain. We both love the smell, which is nice and fresh but not overwhelming.

It's significantly better than liquid softener because you don't have to deal with pouring into the little cup, and getting the liquid into the little softener hole for the washing machine. I like it better than dryer sheets (which I used while living at school) because although dryer sheets smell good, I never felt they did as good a job softening as the liquid. These bars would be great for college students! Our washing machines in our apartments out at school didn't have a thing for adding fabric softener, so I always had to use dryer sheets. Now college students could get the dryer bar and just click it into their dryer!

For the lack of mess, and length of time these bars last, I think they're totally worth the cost. I would recommend them to anyone who gets tired of constantly having to buy bottles of softener or deal with the mess of pouring softener into their load of laundry. Try these out! Read more...

I wish I could try it but I don't have my own washer or dryer...laundromats for me! It's such a pain!
