The Big Bang... Theories?

Last night (at approx. 9:40), as I walk walking through my house, there was a huge blast from outside. It was so big it shook our entire house. The weather was clear, so I knew it wasn't thunder. I've heard transformers in the area blow, and the explosion is never that big. Which left me with one other theory, a bomb. We looked outside, but saw nothing. Within minutes, a din of sirens was coming from every direction around our house. Whatever it was, they felt it merited more than one fire department.

At eleven o'clock, we switched on the news to see what the heck it was. Apparently, no one knows! The blast was heard all the way from North Carolina to Maryland, and many people saw a bright flash with it. No one seems to know anything about it, and I don't just mean lay people. They said they've been asking the government, military, and tons of scientific groups, and no one has an explanation. People who saw the light say they saw it in the east, and it was moving in a west-south-west direction.

The national weather service has confirmed it wasn't weather related. NASA, the Air Force, and the Navy had nothing unusual to report. Some people think it was a meteor. No idea yet though. Apparently the cause of all the sirens was EMS was fanning out across the city looking for the source, trying to find fires or anything that exploded, but no such luck.

Curious... very curious... I say it's aliens.
